RoCRE has an exciting opportunity to join our Conference Centre team as an Apprentice Hospitality Assistant.
As part of expanding conference and catering team serving high quality food to the Rothamsted community of scientists and tenant companies, along with local residents, we require an apprentice to help on the till and to serve freshly prepared barista coffee.
This vacancy is in our restaurant which seats up to 200 people, working alongside an existing kitchen team of 6. The main responsibilities are to:
Run the barista coffee station taking orders, preparing and serving teas, coffees and pastries
Use the till to process all payments for food and drinks bought in the restaurant
Maintain the cleanliness of the restaurant and ensure everything is prepared for the lunch period
Assist with serving food, setting up and clearing meeting rooms and preparing sandwiches as required.
The Rothamsted Conference Centre is an integral part of the Rothamsted Centre for Research and Enterprise and provides an extensive range of first class facilities including a tiered 300-seat auditorium with state of the art audio visual and media streaming, a large galleried area for exhibitions that can serve as an additional auditorium to seat 200, six break-out rooms to accommodate 10 - 100 people and a fully equipped press room with high speed Wi-Fi and advanced media facilities.
We are a small team of 14 but focused and enjoy our work, providing a restaurant service for 200 + people daily, primarily staff of Rothamsted Research, an agricultural research centre. Rothamsted Conference Centre is set on the Rothamsted Research campus in 360 hectares of beautiful Hertfordshire farmland.
