CAROLINE SPARKS
Cereal Transformation Scientist
Plant Sciences for the Bioeconomy
BIOGRAPHY
Caroline is involved in cereal transformation research with particular emphasis on wheat. She advises on the most appropriate transformation systems for research projects, internally and externally, and oversees the transformation pipeline. She is interested in the characterisation of promoters for targeting gene expression and she carries out transient and stable transformation experiments for evaluation of promoters. Caroline is skilled in tissue culture and transformation, molecular analysis, cloning and crossing of transgenic lines. She has become increasingly involved in genome editing of wheat.
