Plant Sciences for the Bioeconomy
Joe is a PhD student in the BBSRC Collaborative Training Partnership program, with partners Mondelēz UK R&D Ltd and the University of Reading, and is further supported through a Society of Chemical Industry Scholarship. His research is in the fields of quantitative genetics, crop management, and plant metabolism; focusing on the nutritional and agronomic quality of wheat. The project aims to understand how genetic and environmental factors affect the amino acid composition of wheat grain, particularly with regard to asparagine, and how this impacts other agronomic traits.
