Prof. MILTON MORAES
Plant nutrition, soil fertility and fertilizers
Sustainable Soils and Crops
Milton has expertise in mineral nutrition of plants, soil fertility, and fertilizers, particularly in the field of micronutrients, biofortification and fertilization of field crops (soybean, maize, and cotton). He has been studying nutritional requirements of modern soybean varieties for tropical regions as well as the relation among soil quality, environment climate conditions, and crop growth/nutrition. The second line of research focuses on the influence of fertilizers, plant breeding, and management practices into food quality (Biofortification). His current research priorities are developing best management practices and new technologies to improve fertilizer use efficiency, contributing to net zero targets, food quality and agricultural sustainability.
