Research Scientist; Take-All Wheat Team Leader
Protecting Crops and the Environment
BIOGRAPHY
Dr. Nida Ghori is Plant molecular geneticist with the expertise in map-based cloning and functional marker development for gene pyramiding and marker assisted breeding. She has joined wheat pathogenomics team recently and her current research work is aimed at identifying genomic regions associated with take-all and functionally validating genes for resistance in wheat. Moreover, she is working towards diagnostic marker development that can be used in UK wheat breeding programs. She will also be the part of WGIN and DFW projects as well with the intention of contributing to sustainable food security by reducing the need for fungicides without compromising plant yields and quality. Nida is open for collaborations and sharing her expertise with other scientists at Rothamsted and around the world.
