BIOGRAPHY

Ruth is a member of the Analytical Chemistry Unit, a specialist testing service that supports the research programmes of the institute and of external clients. The unit provides extraction, digestion and analysis of soil, plant material and environmental water samples. Ruth has specific management responsibilities for the Total Nitrogen and Carbon Facility - Leco Combustion Analysers and the Sample Digestion Facility - Preparation of samples for ICP Analysis. She is also the representative for the unit for external sample submission. Ruth has considerable expertise, knowledge and experience in analytical techniques and instrumentation, particularly associated with combustion analysis and acid digestion procedures.
