Protecting Crops and the Environment

Tony is ECN Site Manager for the Harpenden site. His main research activities are associated with the long-term monitoring of changes to the environment and their impact on ecosystems, with particular interest in meteorology, and atmospheric and soil chemistry. He is interested in how changes in climate and atmospheric pollutants, through wet and dry deposition, affect the delicate balance of our ecosystems. The main focus of study is the Rothamsted Estate with particular emphasis on the Rothamsted Park Grass Hay Experiment (est. 1856). His research is in collaboration with and on behalf of the UK Environmental Change Network (ECN) and the Rothamsted Long-Term Experiments National Capability (LTE-NC), grant funded by the BBSRC and Lawes Agricultural Trust.
