      Are you an experienced Field Technician?We are seeking a Field Technician in the Protecting Crops and the Environment Department at Rothamsted Research, employed on a 5-month fixed-term contract, funded by BBSRC and Syngenta. The project aims to evaluate synthetic blends of semiochemicals for monitoring Agriotes wireworms, serious pests of a range of key UK crops. The successful candiate will be involved in the preparation of lure formulations and trapping devices, installation of soil traps in experimental fields at multiple sites across England, inspection and renewal of traps weekly, processing and recording trap catch data.

  • AgroEcosystems Modeller

    • Overview of role:
      We are seeking an enthusiastic and innovative soil-systems/agri-environmental modeller to work in an active research team developing and running models that describe the flow of nutrients and pollutants in soil systems. This role is for a versatile post-doctoral scientist who will work in a multidisciplinary environment and interact with scientists from several different organisations all researching processes that contribute to our understanding of GHG emissions and the loading of agricultural chemicals in freshwaters.  It is suitable for a highly numerate scientist, with experience of programming and mathematical techniques.
