About

Join us for a fascinating talk by Dr Adriana Torres-Ballesteros on how the tiniest organisms can have a huge impact on our climate. We’ll dive into two exciting research projects: one in Brazil exploring methane emissions and the delicate balance of microbial communities in hydropower reservoirs, and another focused on agricultural soils in the UK, where scientists are investigating CO2 concentrations and how land management practices can help reduce emissions.

Café Scientifique is a place where, for the price of a cup of coffee or a glass of wine, anyone can come to explore the latest ideas in science and technology. Meetings take place in cafes, bars, restaurants and even theatres, but always outside a traditional academic context. Anyone is welcome to come and learn something new, ask questions, and join in the discussion.
