MOTOR is a flexible system that was built to describe the transformations of organic carbon and nitrogen in soil. The model is written in Fortran and works with any operating system for which there is a Fortran compiler. MOTOR was developed under Visual Fortran.
It is free of charge, subject to the following two conditions:
- You agree to use the model for scientific research only and not to pass it onto third parties without permission from the copyright holder.
- You agree not to use the model for commercial gain or profit without permission from the copyright holder and to give due acknowledgement to the author in any scientific publications. The following article should be cited: Whitmore, A.P. Describing the transformation of organic carbon and nitrogen in soil using the MOTOR system, in press, Computers and Electronics in Agriculture.
- Has been tested at Rothamsted and one or two sites elsewhere. It may have some bugs which we would like to know about.
We would grateful for any comments or suggestions you may have about MOTOR.
