Biography

Hsin-Yu is an enthusiastic biocurator with extensive experience in annotating biological data from scientific literature and various databases. She holds a PhD in Biological Sciences from Durham University, with expertise in molecular biology, cell biology, and high-throughput experimental design. Previously, she curated biological data for the InterPro website at the European Bioinformatics Institute for over nine years. As a member of the PHI-base team, she curates information from peer-reviewed literature on pathogen-host interactions using the PHI-Canto curation tool. She also plays a key role in ontology development, defining and refining concepts within the Pathogen-Host Interaction Phenotype Ontology (PHIPO) and integrating terms from other established ontologies. She provides training and facilitates knowledge exchange to researchers, helping them navigate the PHI-Canto tool and the curation process.
