Biography

Kamrun is former PhD student of Rothamsted Research where she worked with the Soil Physics group. After completing her PhD in April 2022, she returned to Rothamsted Research as a postdoctoral research scientist (Soil Physics) in October 2022. Her research interest is to explore the factors regulating soil properties, i.e. soil physical properties and the relationship between soil physical properties, plant growth and sustainable environment. She is also interested in gaseous exchange in soil i.e. diffusion and emission of soil gas and how soil physical properties impact on gas diffusion in soil and gas emission from soil.

After graduating in soil science from Khulna University (Bangladesh), Kamrun had a master’s degree in Soil Science; major in Soil Physics from University of Aberdeen (Scotland, UK). And as a continuation of her MSc Project, she started her PhD in Soil Physics in Rothamsted Research. Her major interest in her Doctoral study was to observe the effect of long-term application of soil-organic-matter on soil physical properties.
