Latifa is a post-doctoral research scientist with a focus on image processing and computer vision. She is using machine learning models and data recorded by the field Scanalyzer to build an automatic high-throughput phenotyping pipeline and then track the growth stages of wheat germplasm. Her research interest concerns analysing and extracting features from 2D imagery, 3D points cloud, and hyperspectral images to provide the main traits of wheat germplasm. Currently, she is studying the development of wheat ear components at a small-scale using a 3D laser scanner as well as some software and libraries to clean, mesh, extract morphological measurements from the 3D scans.
