The big picture: using wildflower strips for pest control
Protecting Crops and the Environment
Lisa is a PhD student funded by the Future Food Beacon (Rothamsted Research and University of Nottingham).
Her research focuses on the isolation, characterization and synthesis of chemical signals involved in controlling fungal reproduction in a phytopathogen of oilseed rape. The aim is to investigate the mechanisms behind a/sexual reproduction, and exploit fungal sexual hormones as novel anti-fungal agent for plant disease management on Brassica crops. This multidisciplinary project combines analytical and synthetic chemistry with microbiology, microscopy and molecular biology techniques.
