The big picture: using wildflower strips for pest control
Sustainable Soils and Crops
Steve is interested in soil and water biogeochemistry, particularly nutrient cycling and losses to waters. Steve has much experience in soil and water sampling and analytical chemistry, and has particular knowledge of stable isotope extraction techniques. To this end, Steve has been working on phosphorus availability and cycling in soils, trying to better understand what limits this essential nutrient in different soil types. Steve is undertaking a research fellowship at Rothamsted Research; he is using the stable isotope of oxygen in phosphate as a tool to unlock phosphorus transformations.
