Biography

Suzanne is an applied statistician focusing on the application of a variety of traditional and modern statistical techniques to data/research projects arising primarily in the areas of entomology, insect ecology and insect biochemistry, but also insect behaviour, bee health, weed science and crop protection. Her statistical expertise includes design of experiments, linear models (analysis of variance, linear regression), generalised linear models (especially for proportion and count data) and linear mixed models. She also has some experience in multivariate techniques (principal coordinates, canonical variates), generalised linear mixed models and non-linear regression models. Suzanne is a co-author, leader and presenter of two of the statistics courses (Design & Analysis of Simple Experiments and Introduction to Linear Regression Analysis) run by the applied statistics team; a co-author and presenter of Advanced Regression Analysis; and a co-author of Introduction to Multivariate Analysis. Recently, she co-authored the statistical text book: Welham et al. (2015) Statistical methods in Biology: Design and Analysis of Experiments and Regression, CRC Press, Boca Raton, 582 pp.
